What is PrideChess?

PrideChess is a chess platform built around identity, expression, and five complete forms of chess.

Its premise is simple: the chess humanity knew was never the only form.

Why does it exist?

For centuries, humanity knew only Classic. PrideChess reveals a wider chess universe in which five complete forms exist in parallel, each with its own Royals and rules.

It does not correct or replace chess. It expands what humanity knows chess to be.

The Variants

Classic: King and Queen vs. King and Queen.

Gay: Two Kings vs. Two Kings.

Les: Two Queens vs. Two Queens.

Trans: Two Ceneos vs. Two Ceneos.

Non-Binary: Two Ardhanarishvaras vs. Two Ardhanarishvaras.

These five forms are known as the Variants.

Expression and Customization

PrideChess celebrates expression through play. Players can select a Variant, equip a modular army assembled from different Realms and customize the board and its surroundings.

Each choice helps make the experience personal while preserving the identity and rules of every Variant.

Our Principles

PrideChess is not a correction, modernization or replacement of chess. It is built on respect, inclusion and freedom of expression.

If any part of PrideChess falls short of these principles, we invite you to tell us so it can be reviewed and corrected.

Respectful Representation

Ceneo is represented in PrideChess as the Royal of the Trans Variant, through integrated Trans symbolism and without reducing Trans identity to stereotype or caricature.

Ardhanarishvara is represented in PrideChess with respect for its cultural and spiritual significance. Cultural guidance was sought during development but PrideChess remains open to dialogue, feedback and correction.
