Cultural context
Ardhanarishvara is a sacred figure within living Hindu traditions, commonly understood as a composite form of Shiva and Parvati. That symbolism is the cultural reference behind PrideChess’s use of the name for the Non-Binary royal.
The chess implementation is a PrideChess gameplay system, not a claim to redefine or reproduce the religious figure. PrideChess treats Ardhanarishvara as a living sacred reference and documents fuller context in its Cultural Notes.
