PrideChess Variant · Les Chess

Lesbian Chess
“Two queens don’t need no king.”

The variant
What changes
Classic chess gives each side one queen. Lesbian Chess gives each side two, and in this variant both queens are Royal.
That change doubles long-range power while making royal safety part of queen play itself. Two queens can coordinate across files, ranks, and diagonals at the same time, making attacks arrive sooner and defensive mistakes much more expensive.
The rules
Four things to know

Two queens
Each side begins with two queens.

Both are Royal
In Lesbian Chess, both queens are Royal and must be protected.

Double range
Two long-range royals can coordinate across files, ranks, and diagonals at once.

Faster attacks
Threats appear sooner and from more directions.
Strategy
What changes strategically.
Lesbian Chess rewards initiative. A single queen can dominate space; two Royal queens can create overlapping threats that ordinary defensive patterns were never designed to absorb.
You have more attacking power, but so does your opponent. A greedy queen can still get trapped, and because both queens are Royal, aggressive play and royal safety are inseparable.
Why this variant
Why PrideChess plays it this way.
Lesbian Chess is not Classic with a different label. The second queen and Royal status change how the game feels immediately.
The variant stays recognizable while becoming more aggressive, mobile, and tactical without requiring players to learn an entirely new piece.
FAQ
Questions people ask

Lesbian Chess fields two queens, and in this variant both queens are Royal.
Is Lesbian Chess easier?
Not necessarily. You have more attacking power, but your opponent does too, and both Royal queens must stay safe.
Does strategy still matter?
Very much. Poor coordination between powerful Royal pieces can become a liability very quickly.
Is it still chess?
Yes. The board and familiar queen movement remain recognizable; the strategic environment changes dramatically.
